Contrary to what is says in John’s Health Survey, there is no version available online to complete. It was case of wires crossed. Our apologies if you’ve spent time looking for it.

Many will be saddened to hear that Terry Francis, LibDem councillor for Kew Ward until he retired last May, and Mayor of Sefton from 1996 to 1997, died at the weekend. John Pugh MP, who served alongside Terry for many years as a Lib Dem councillor said:

"Terry's rapid decline and death is deeply upsetting for the party, myself and his former constituents. He was a politician of the utmost honour, a kind and thoughtful human being and a friend to all. He was a source of good counsel, deeply principled with a sense of proportion and a constant twinkle in his eye. Without ever seeking the headlines he did an enormous amount of good in this world.

“When people are inclined to rubbish all politicians, they should stop and recall people like Terry, whose whole life was genuinely one of public service."
 
MP EXPRESSES CONCERN ABOUT LOCAL POLICE REDUCTION

Following the news that Southport police would be temporarily re-deployed to deal with the Rhys Jones murder enquiry and gun crime in parts of Liverpool, local MPJohn Pugh has expressed concern that this could lead to a further upsurge of violence on Southport streets.

Pugh: seasides mustn't be neglected

Westminster Hall, 12th June: In a debate on the Communities and Local Government Committee Report on Coastal Towns, John Pugh argues that central Government, regional development assemblies, transport and health authorities and policy makers need first to recognise that there are generic problems and problems that are peculiar to such towns before meaningful solutions can be implemented.
