Community Support Officers financially unsupported |

MP John Pugh warns that we could be 'sleepwalking into trouble' with the announcement that 18 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be lost from Sefton's streets. Time-limited funding for PCSOs is scheduled to run out in 2010 and the Council has not put money in the budget to fund the posts for this year.

John Pugh calls for Government to get clear on how it will help KGV |

John Pugh, Lib Dem MP for Southport, is calling on the Government to openly explain how it will help Southport’s KGV recover from the failure of the Building Colleges for the Future Programme. The call is in line with a new report by the powerful Public Accounts
Committee – of which Dr Pugh is a member – which has criticised
the Learning and Skills Council responsible for the debacle which
left KGV severely out of pocket.
