John Pugh is the latest MP to have his road craft tested in DriveCheck, a scheme introduced last year by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) to introduce driving assessment for members of the public. The scheme offers a way to for people to become involved with the IAM who currently would not do so because, for many, the challenge of the IAM test seems too daunting, or they are put off for some reason.

Following his test which took him on a route around Southport and the surrounding areas, John's assessor, Richard Hardie said: "His road positioning, observation, hazard perception
and planning ahead attributes were all above average driving standard."

John is now an Associate Member of the IAM for one year.
