Results to MP's Health Survey |
|
Monday, 26 November 2007 |
Following the analysis of around 3000 forms returned by members of the Southport public, John Pugh released details of its findings. Headline issues:
- Massive backing for the MP's continuing campaign for Chlidren's Urgent Care facilities in Southport
- Strong opposition to hospital car parking and telephone charges
- General satisfaction with the dentist and GP - provided you've got one
- Widespread belief that the NHS does not spend money to best effect
- Mixed news for the hospital on services
John comments: "Generally as in previous surveys - this is the third we've done - people are more satisfied with their own treatment than with the NHS as a whole. It's the issues that have an effect across the board - like car parking charges and the absence of children's A&E - that annoy people the most. I have shared my results with the hospital and the primary care trust and hope to have a no-holds barred discussion of what the evidence is showing."
